Firefighters Rescue Man Trapped Under ATV

Volunteer firefighters from two local departments rescued a man from a steep wooded hillside in Margaretville on Saturday after the all-terrain vehicle he was driving overturned.

At 12:03pm, a resident of Scott Street in Margaretville heard the man calling for help nearby and called 911. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found the man trapped beneath the vehicle and suffering minor injuries. Firefighters from the Margaretville and Halcottsville fire departments were able to lift the vehicle off the man and assist him in getting to safety.

Margaretville Hospital Emergency Medical Services treated the man at the scene, and transported him to Margaretville Hospital. The New York State Police also responded to the incident.
